Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end setup and operation of a new highly automated hand tool forging manufacturing facility in Thailand
  • Full accountability for factory startup and day-to-day operations, covering production, cost, productivity, quality, EHS, and people management
  • Oversee factory setup including site selection, plant layout, process and equipment design, installation, and commissioning
  • Establish manufacturing systems, SOPs, work instructions, internal controls, and ensure compliance with Thai regulations and labor laws
  • Drive operational excellence through productivity improvement, on-time delivery (OTD), lead time reduction, and inventory control
  • Define, implement, and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Ensure product quality meets internal and customer standards, while leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts)
  • Implement tiered accountability structure, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Build and enforce a strong EHS management system aligned with local regulations and international best practices
  • Create a strong safety culture through risk assessments, audits, and incident prevention initiatives
  • Build the factory organization from scratch, including hiring, onboarding, training, and developing leaders and supervisors
  • Lead workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Act as the key operations interface with regional and global stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, engineering, finance, and quality teams
  • Support customer audits, internal audits, and regulatory inspections

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

  • 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience, preferably in:

  • Hand tools, metal forging, metal forming, or heavy industrial manufacturing

  • Proven experience setting up an automated factory or leading major factory expansions in Thailand
  • Strong knowledge of production systems
  • Solid experience in EHS, productivity improvement, and people management

  • Strong leadership, execution, and problem-solving skills

  • Exposure to multinational manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks

  • Ability to work in English

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
