Merchandise Specialist

Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand POP MART Full time

Role Summary:
The Merchandising Specialist is responsible for the strategic distribution and replenishment of merchandise across the retail network. This role acts as the bridge between buying and operations, ensuring that each store's product mix and inventory levels are optimized to meet specific sales targets. You will analyze store-level performance to balance "High-Demand" versus "Core" products, preventing both stock-outs and overstocking while respecting physical back-stock constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Stock Allocation & Distribution:
Execute replenish product allocation based on store clusters, historical performance, and sales targets. Balance the Product Mix and Sales Mix for each location to ensure the assortment aligns with local customer profiles and store monthly sales target. Manage pre-allocated replenishment triggers to capture every sales opportunity and to prevent sales opportunities lost from stock outs.
  • Inventory Balancing & Stock Transfers
: Analyze stock-to-sales ratios to identify imbalances between stores. Monitor store-level inventory daily to ensure the right depth of "Hero SKUs" (high-demand items) is available at top-tier locations. Coordinate store stock transfer to move slow-moving inventory to high-potential locations, maximizing sell-through.
  • Capacity & Stockroom Management:
Collaborate with Store Managers to understand physical Stockroom Capacity constraints and ensure allocation volumes are suitable and prevent operational bottlenecks caused by over-shipment while maintaining enough shelf presence to drive sales. Monitor "Stock Cover" weeks to ensure stores are not burdened with excess aging inventory.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience as a Buyer, Assistant Merchandiser, or Allocator in a multi-unit retail environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex SKU counts across multiple locations (Store-level allocation experience is a must).
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, complex formulas) and the ability to interpret data to make quick inventory adjustment decisions.
  • Strong understanding of retail math (Sell-through %, Stock-to-Sales, Weeks of Cover).
  • High precision in data entry and order management to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Fluent in English both speaking, reading and writing.
