We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Electrical Engineer specializing in Battery Systems to join our dynamic R&D and engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and validation of battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS) for automotive and potential stationary energy storage applications. You will work at the forefront of electric vehicle technology, ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of our next-generation battery solutions.

As an Electrical Engineer for Battery Systems, you will be responsible for

1) Battery System Design & Development:

• Lead or contribute to the hands-on electrical design of battery packs, including cell selection, module design, and overall pack architecture.
• Develop and integrate Battery Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring, protection, and control of battery performance.
• Design and specify electrical interfaces (HV, LV, communication) between the battery pack and the vehicle/system.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications.

2) Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant automotive safety standards (e.g. functional safety) and international transport regulations.
• Participate actively in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and other safety analyses (e.g., FTA, FMEA) to mitigate electrical hazards.

3) Testing & Validation:

• Define and execute electrical validation tests for battery cells, modules, and full battery packs (e.g., performance, lifetime, abuse, EMC).
• Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and propose corrective actions.
• Support certification processes with external testing agencies.

4) Component Selection & Supplier Management:

• Evaluate and select electrical components (e.g., contactors, fuses, sensors, microcontrollers) for the BMS and battery pack.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure component quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

5) Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in battery technology, power electronics, and automotive electrical systems.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
• Drive innovation in battery system design, leveraging new materials and technologies.

6) Documentation & Configuration Management:

• Maintain thorough technical documentation for all electrical designs, test procedures, and validation reports.
• Ensure robust configuration management for all electrical components and software versions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design and development of battery systems for high-power electronics, robotics or consumer electronics systems, ideally with automotive industry experience
• Strong knowledge of power management systems (including hardware and software architectures), essential for efficiently and safely integrating battery solutions for high power electronics, energy storage solutions or robotic platforms.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout design

• In-depth understanding of relevant safety and performance standards for electrical and battery systems:

• Functional Safety principles and their practical application.

• Expertise in battery safety and performance validation, with strong experience in testing for robust and reliable operation across diverse conditions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of PCB electronics product development cycle from prototype to production
• Good command of working-level English

Preferred:

- Automotive knowledge or background.

- Portfolio of previous projects

- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and simulation.

- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
