Purpose of this role:

To govern and execute Quality Assurance functions across ZUS Coffee's operating markets, covering both retail and supplier QA. This role ensures that retail outlets consistently uphold food safety, hygiene, and operational excellence through audits and QA governance.

while ensuring local suppliers meet safety and compliance standards.

Job Responsibilities

Part 1 – Primary roles of the job which are measurable and may be used as part of KPIs

Retail QA Governance & Auditing

• Conduct outlet regular audit (ORA) and targeted inspections to ensure outlet compliances of ZUS standards.
• Oversee outlet QA compliance, ensuring adherence to workflows, hygiene standards, and QA protocols.
• Localize QA practices to comply with local authority requirements (e.g., health department, halal authority, food safety regulators) while aligning with Group QA direction.
• Work with Retail Operations on corrective actions, preventive measures, and continuous improvement plans.

Regional Supplier Governance and Auditing

• Conduct supplier audit (approval, routine, ad-hoc) in alignment with group FSQ standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, work closely with supplier to address and resolve quality and safety issue, including any defects or inconsistencies.
• Ensure local supplier onboarding, QA documentation, and compliance with regulatory/halal requirements.

FSQ Compliance and Documentation Review

• Perform Product Safety Review (PSR) on locally sourced suppliers and ingredients.
• Validate local suppliers' food safety documentation (e.g. HACCP, FSSC22000, Halal etc)
• Maintain centralized QA documentation and ensure traceability for audit and regulatory purposes.

Incident Response and Recovery, CAPA Oversight

• Act as local QA first responder for supplier- or outlet - related product incidents, recalls, and quality complaints.
• Work with vendors on timely investigation, root cause analysis, and issuance of Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).

Product Quality Validation

• Conduct quality check for new and existing products, ingredients and food items to ensure consistency and regulatory fit.

Part 2 – Secondary roles which supports the primary roles above

• Share QA best practices with retail, supplier chain and product team
• Support new product validation and QA checks before market launch
• Serve as the communication bridge between Group QA and local team, ensuring that group standards are implemented and localized effectively.

Job Qualifications

Qualification

• At least Degree in Food Science, Food Science & Technology, Quality Assurance, Engineering or other related disciplines.
• Formal background or training in technical areas relevant to FSMS standards (HACCP / GFSI).

Experience

• 2 - 3 years of experience (Senior Executive level) in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, or Food Safety in the food and beverage industry, preferably within Quick Restaurant Services line.

Skills & Knowledge

• Fluent in English and local language (spoken and written).
• Good knowledge of retail and supplier management and auditing processes, food safety standards, quality assurance terminology, implementations, methods and tools.
• Technical knowledge and hands on experience in handling certification audit such as GFSI is preferred.
