Engineering - Technology at Coda

We're hiring a Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

In this role, you will:

Design and build powerful DevOps tooling
 that streamlines developer workflows and boosts productivity across teams.

Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines
, making sure software delivery is fast, reliable, and scalable.

Partner with engineering teams
 to uncover and solve pain points, helping them ship with confidence and speed.

You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and operations to shape the future of our development platform — driving innovation, reliability, and security at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust DevOps tooling to improve developer workflows and boost overall engineering productivity
• Implement and maintain efficient, reliable CI/CD pipelines to support smooth and scalable software delivery
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve pain points affecting the developer experience
• Analyze, understand, and continuously optimize internal development processes by identifying bottlenecks and driving improvements in system stability and team efficiency
• Take full operational responsibility for the infrastructure and tooling owned and maintained by your team
• Investigate and debug production issues related to CI/CD systems and developer tooling, ensuring minimal disruption to development teams
• Participate in on-call rotations as required — with a strong focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance by minimizing interruptions and ensuring fair on-call distribution

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on infrastructure or platform engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
• Proficient in Python or Go (required); bonus if experienced with other languages such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, Groovy, Ruby, JavaScript, C/C++, Rust, or C#
• Solid understanding of software architecture, especially in relation to infrastructure and developer tooling
• Familiar with various data systems and how to query or interact with them (e.g., RDBMS, NoSQL databases, message queues)
• Strong mindset for automation — experience building CI/CD pipelines and implementing test automation
• Knowledge of agile methodologies, such as Kanban, and experience working in agile environments
• Strong communication skills and good command of English, both written and verbal

Bonus If you have

• Proven experience in building internal developer tools and engineering platforms
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud technologies, including serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background in FinTech or similarly regulated industries with a strong emphasis on security and compliance best practices
