Position: Early Years Teacher

Department: Early Years / Kindergarten Department

Reports to: Early Years Coordinator / Principal


Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
  • Deliver age-appropriate lessons for Early Years students following the school curriculum (EYFS, IPC, Montessori, or school-specific curriculum).
  • Create an engaging, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports children's holistic development.
  • Develop lesson plans and learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and language development.
  • Use play-based learning approaches, hands-on activities, and child-centered methodologies.
  • Observe and document each child's progress and developmental milestones.
2. Classroom Management
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive classroom environment at all times.
  • Ensure the supervision and safety of children during class, playtime, meals, and transitions.
  • Promote positive behavior, social skills, and independence in young learners.
  • Communicate classroom expectations clearly and consistently.
3. Assessment & Reporting
  • Conduct ongoing assessments through observation, portfolios, and informal evaluations.
  • Prepare progress reports and developmental assessments according to the school's schedule.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Participate in Parent-Teacher Conferences and provide clear feedback on children's development.
4. Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with co-teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to ensure smooth classroom operations.
  • Coordinate with curriculum coordinators, specialists, and other teachers to align learning goals.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
5. Child Well-Being & Care Duties
  • Support children with hygiene routines (toileting, handwashing, eating routines) according to age and development level.
  • Monitor children's emotional well-being and provide comfort, guidance, and reassurance.
  • Identify learning delays or behavioral concerns and report them to the Early Years Coordinator or SEN team.
6. Administrative Duties
  • Prepare teaching materials, resources, and classroom displays.
  • Maintain attendance records and classroom documentation.
  • Assist in organizing school events, celebrations, field trips, and Early Years activities.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Early Years or Kindergarten students.
  • Strong communication skills in English (for international or bilingual schools).
  • Knowledge of Early Years pedagogy and child development principles.
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing personality with a genuine passion for young children.
  • Strong classroom management and teamwork skills.
Preferred
  • Professional teaching license (Khurusapha or equivalent).
  • Experience with international curricula (EYFS, Reggio Emilia, IPC, Montessori, etc.).
  • Ability to integrate technology into Early Years learning.
  • First-aid or child-safeguarding training.
