ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Field Technician specializes in the installation, configuration, and support of POS systems at client locations. This role involves onsite technical support, system setup, troubleshooting, and working closely with clients to ensure smooth implementation of hardware and software solutions. responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the rollout of software, systems, products, or services across an organization or to clients. This role ensures that deployments are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and are aligned with business objectives, while minimizing risk and disruption.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

This position involves being part of the operating team. Responsibilities include: 

  • Perform onsite installation, setup, and configuration of POS systems (hardware and software). 
  • Lead and supervise junior technicians during installation projects. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to POS terminals, peripherals, network connectivity, and payment systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate deployment.
  • Conduct system testing and verification after installation.
  • Provide user training and basic operational support for end-users.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Travel to client sites as required, including outside regular business hours when necessary.
Ideal Profile:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience with retail or hospitality POS solutions. 
  • Certifications in networking or systems support (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus. 
  • Customer service mindset and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in POS system installation or field service technician roles. 
  • Strong understanding of hardware (e.g., POS terminals, printers, scanners, cash drawers). 
  • Basic to intermediate networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches, cabling). 
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various locations.
