Safety Specialist

Our client is a global leader in the indulgent and natural snacking segment, with several well-known brands, and is now expanding by building a new Biscoff plant in Chonburi

Job Purpose

• This position is responsible for managing and coordinating all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) matters related to project team members and contractors, ensuring full compliance with project HSE requirements, local regulations, codes, and internal policies during the machine installation phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control safety operations at the project site, monitoring contractor activities and verifying that work and procedures comply with HSE requirements and guidelines.
• Prepare and review project HSE deliverables such as the Project/Contractor HSE Management Plan, relevant HSE procedures, and Environmental Management Procedures.
• Ensure that the approved HSE management system is effectively implemented by the Project Team and contractors.
• Monitor and control project HSE performance to ensure compliance with timelines, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Oversee health, safety, environmental, security, and emergency management across all project phases to ensure safe completion.
• Provide consultation and advice on safety regulations and unsafe conditions/actions to employees, contractors, and third parties (e.g., Risk Assessment, Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEA), toolbox meetings).
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, recommend preventive measures, and maintain detailed accident records for trend analysis and improvement.
• Conduct comprehensive safety inspections, regular audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulations and company policies.
• Deliver safety training on topics including hazard communication, PPE usage, safe work practices, and emergency procedures, and maintain accurate training records.
• Implement and monitor occupational health and safety control programs, follow up on corrective actions, and report progress during project meetings.
• Ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations regarding waste management and emissions.
• Prepare and report EHS documentation, statistics, and performance updates to management.
• Establish a clear daily safety walkthrough routine and ensure findings are promptly addressed.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety; or a Bachelor's Degree in any field with at least 10 years of experience as a professional-level Safety Officer.
• Must possess a Safety Officer (Professional Level) certification.

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE leadership roles.
• Background in manufacturing and construction environments.
• Experience in the food industry is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience in establishing HSE protocols and best practices during machine installation projects.
• Proficient in both English and Thai.
