We are seeking a visionary
Senior
Principal Software Engineer
to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions in
World-Check Content Curation Platform
. This role is ideal for a seasoned technologist who thrives in complex environments, drives innovation, and mentors engineering teams to deliver world-class products. You will play a critical role in shaping our technical strategy and implementation, engineering best practices, and engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the cloud native application design and implementation of complex software systems.
• Build and demonstrate a breadth of knowledge of various domains within technology, understanding the linkages and dependencies of projects/work and the key senior stakeholders.
• Advise stakeholders internally as a software development SME applying deep expertise of software development.
• Evaluates and introduce new technology or techniques to implement the strategy, proposes patterns for its use and owns the development of reference code to set a standard for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive technical excellence across teams through code reviews, cyber security review, mentorship, and best practices.
• Act as a thought leader, influencing engineering culture and fostering innovation.
• Collaborate with application architect, product management and cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
• Leads the delivery of critical projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure completion of work from other team members, mentoring and delegating work when required.
• Ensure high standards of security, reliability, and performance in all deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven hands-on experience as a technical lead, application architect or principal engineer in large-scale software development.
• Experience with micro-services architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Web application standards and REST API's (Web services, JSON, HTTP, HTTPS)
• Expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud platforms and content distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, DevOps practices and agile methodologies.
• Proven a positive and high-energy personal commitment with a collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with data engineering, machine learning, or AI technologies is considered an advantage.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications is considered an advantage.
