NIST is looking for an experienced, effective, and collaborative teacher to join our team. The preferred candidate will have experience teaching mathematics in both the IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, a thorough knowledge of all subject matter, as well as the requisite teaching qualifications for mathematics. Experience with Analysis and Approaches (AA), Higher Level (HL), and Applications and Interpretation (AI), HL would be an advantage. At least 10 years of international teaching experience would be preferred. For those suitably qualified and interested, the Head of Department position will be advertised shortly after the appointment.

-  Pedagogical humility to continue to develop as a teacher and stay abreast of best practice

-  Conviction towards an inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum programme

-  Ability to teach across a range of abilities and motivations

-  Data-driven and a belief in action research to determine what practices/ strategies have the greatest impact

-  Pedagogical practices in line with the school's mission, vision and values

-  Utilisation of different cultural mathematical practices in line with international mindedness

-  Ensuring students authentically understand the what, why, and how they learn

-  Willingness to seek pre-emptive support when uncertain

-  Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives

-  Contribute with colleagues across the department/ divisions

-  Commitment to the homeroom/ advisor role

-  Holistic educational beliefs and an ability to connect with students within and beyond the classroom

-  Contribute to the school's extra-curricular activities/ service/ expedition programmes

-  Supervise the Personal Project/ Extended Essay
