Being a fantastic mathematics teacher here at SPIP requires a combination of skills, qualities, and a genuine passion for teaching. Our mathematics teachers have a deep understanding of mathematics, and they know how to explain complex concepts in a way that is easy for students to understand. They also create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported.

Our mathematics teachers understand that each student learns differently, and they use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse needs of their students. They challenge students to think critically and develop problem-solving skills, and encourage them to ask questions, take risks, and develop a love of learning.

We require our mathematics teachers to provide regular feedback to students on their progress and offer support when needed. They need to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and they are good role models.

We expect our mathematics teachers to keep up to date with the latest developments in mathematics education and we support them in seeking out professional development opportunities to continue improving their skills and knowledge.

Above all, SPIP mathematics teachers are passionate about teaching and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. They value and respect each student as an individual, and they believe that every student can learn and succeed in mathematics. Their enthusiasm and dedication to teaching make them invaluable assets to our students and our school.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 13
- Use a range of teaching techniques and resources to engage students and promote learning
- Set appropriate homework and assess student work regularly to monitor progress
- Provide support and guidance to students to help them achieve their full potential
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and school-wide events
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues

**Requirements**:

- A degree in Maths or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all students
- Commitment to promoting a positive learning environment and supporting students to achieve their full potential
- Experience working with EAL learners is an advantage
- Experience coaching students for external competitions is desirable
