- This position will work within the GOT Geology team.
- Oil, gas, and condensate are produced from complex fluvial reservoirs with highly variable reservoir properties in a densely faulted extensional system. GOT operations drill and complete 10-15,000’ deep wells in 4-6 days with 3-5 active rigs. The ES work process is a fast-paced, standardized approach to well planning and reserves tracking.
- Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Support in both planning and execution phases of new platform development, future infill development, well targeting, well operations, managing oil & gas reservoirs, and supporting the annual reserves process.- The work involves pore pressure/temperature interpretation, stratigraphic correlation, well log evaluation, and using an analogy-based reserves system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Geosciences, Geology, Geosciences, etc. Master's Degree is an advantage.- 5 years' experience in Petroleum industry is preferred.- Proficient experience in all aspects of development geology: subsurface structural mapping, petrophysics, stratigraphic correlation, sand-mapping, reservoir quality & pore-pressure assessment, analogy-based reserves estimation, development well planning, and well operations (WFO rules, call TD, ID losses, pressure pts., & squeezes).- Ability to work in a fast-paced, process-driven, actively drilling asset using Petrel, PowerBI, Spotfire, DOGIS, TCRS, CURTMAP, etc.- Mentoring: proven record of mentoring junior geologists. Active participation and ideas/knowledge sharing is expected at technical review meetings.- Communication: Demonstrated ability to convey concepts and objectives in presentations and technical reports.- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline; multi-cultural environment.- Demonstrate critical We Lead behaviors relevant to current business conditions.
