**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
The incumbent oversees the operational and administrative tasks in relation to the ordering, receipt, shipment, inventory optimisation & returns of goods. This involves warehousing, material handling, control, receiving, picking/packing, cycle counting, managing returned materials, and storage environment maintenance. He/she ensures that the needs of customers are being satisfied; manages and coordinates logistics, warehouse activities and staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates inbound and outbound logístical operations including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products
- Oversees stocking, picking, receiving, internal package delivery, transportation and hazardous material handling
- Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels
- Administers an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of materials, component parts and/or finished goods
- Ensures effective execution of the peak plans in terms of space and resources
- Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels and executing optimisation activities
- Oversees inventory control including cycle counting, loss prevention, stock rotation, obsolescence and damage
- Analyses inventory reports and consignment stock reports and directs appropriate action to ensure inventories are accounted for per accepted practices
- Works cross-functionally on all issues relating to stock management & optimisation
- Analyses current inventory situation and identifies potential improvement opportunities throughout the supply chain to streamline the business models whilst staying within corporate and customer’s guidelines
- Ensures documents for products to be returned to BIOTRONIK Berlin and Bulach are completed and delivered (e.g. complaint reports, rework requests)
- Determines quantities of components, parts and materials required to meet demands which may include Rolling Order Forecast.
- Identifies potential/existing shortages, takes care of shortage orders to ensure consistent flow of material
- Locates, analyses and develops a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs
- Responsible for managing and maintaining all item master data in the ERP
- Management of BIOTRONIK’s Material Master Database, MRP system (SAP) and internal Excel based forms
- Set up and review logistics Standard Operating Procedures

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- Preferably holds a tertiary degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supply chain and/or logistics role (preferably within medical device industry)
- Minimum 2 years of people management experience
- Meticulous and able to demonstrate a proven track record in analytics, forecasting, project management and inventory optimization
- Experienced in working with SAP B1 is an added advantage
- Have extensive MS Excel knowledge and am able to create, develop, and maintain current or new reporting tools
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities
- Good organisation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
