**Inspiring Learning and Development**:
As our SENCO, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of students, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you’ll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you’ll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Phase to design cohesive learning experiences for students.
As part of our inclusive international school, the SENCO will work closely with the Whole School Director of Learning Support to ensure effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders supporting students with learning needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Student Support and Plans: Prepare, implement, monitor, and review Individual Learning and Health Care Plans, and Student Support Plans. Oversee student progress across the High School, ensuring effective universal, targeted, and specialized support.
- Collaboration and Communication: Organize and lead formal and informal meetings with parents, teachers, and specialists to discuss student progress. Provide written reports in line with school policy.
- Inclusive Practice: Contribute to the strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation of inclusive practices in the High School, ensuring excellent academic, personal, and developmental outcomes for all students.
- Program Oversight: Support and, when directed, lead the planning, assessment, and evaluation of learning support programs (Assess, Plan, Do, Review). Coordinate referrals, maintain the High School Learning Support Register, and manage Exam Access Arrangements.
- Policy and Procedures: Work with the Whole School Director of Learning Support to develop and maintain policies and procedures for High School Admissions and Learning Support. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping in line with school policies.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and teachers. Facilitate weekly team meetings, provide feedback through classroom observations, and mentor KS3 and KS4/5 Learning Support teachers.
- Training and Awareness: Promote the work of Learning Support through staff training (INSET) and parent information sessions.
- Coordination: Manage team schedules, troubleshoot issues, and oversee online folders and resources. Collaborate with year leaders and specialist departments to ensure inclusivity.
- Resource Management: Collaborate on program budgets and resource allocation with the Lead LSA and Whole School Director of Learning Support.
