Teacher Assistant Job Description

Teacher Assistant Role Description

**Aim**:
To give support to the homeroom teacher in a variety of ways.

**Nature of Program**:
General duties
Check attendance
Help homeroom teachers compile student information (reports, assessment, surveys, etc)
Obtain stationery. Store materials in classroom and staffroom
Translate Thai/English during parent conferences, field trips, Thai staff, some Thai students, etc.
Attend class field trips
Liaise with other departments (purchasing, accounting, transport, etc.)
Prepare displays in class and corridors
Escort students to specialist class
Assist other teachers and specialists if requested
Support staff using IT (word processing, letter formats, booklets, class records, photos, etc)
Photocopy and laminating
Accompany student to Medical Center
Prepare and tidy the class and staff room as necessary
Professional learning (training, meeting, etc) to help support staff and students
**Starting Term 1
Unpack new orders and equipments
Collect stationeries
Prepare name tags
Setting up new classroom
Prepare display boards
Assist with van lists

EYs1,2,3

**Assist teaching**: follow teacher instruction then work with student groups/work in class
Sit with students at lunch and snack times
Collect, organize and help display students’ portfolios
Help students to get changed (as necessary or for swimming lessons)
Assist in specialist classes
Set up and assist with Art lessons
Store keeper

Grade 1 and 2
Lunch with student
Help in group teaching and Math activities

**Home reading**: help selecting book to take home
Check homework

Grade 3, 4 and 5
Assist teaching in class

**Home Reading**: help select books to take home
Assembly display
IT support
Check homework

Art Teacher Assistant

With Senior School Art Teacher

Complete mounting work and displays
Prepare materials needed for class
Check stock, keep track of purchase orders
Tidy the cupboards and shelves in the store room, Studio 4, Studio 3 and IB Studio

With Junior School Art Teacher

**Assist teaching**: follow teacher instruction then work with student groups in class
Complete mounting work and displays
Prepare requirements needed for class
Check stock and make a list of the things lacking
Complete purchase orders for Head of Art and Junior School Principal to sign
Tidy up the cupboards and the shelf in Junior Art House
Supervise the students when they are in class
Set up all materials needed before classes start and tidy up after class
Collect sample of students’ works and glue them in their portfolios
Download photos and glue in portfolios

With Junior School and Senior School

Liaise with CMU galleries and art institutions to help set up exhibitions and displays
Liaise with local artists to help with fieldtrips and in house class with school activities
Liaise with Prem maintenance team
