Wind Technical Principal

In response to continued growth and high demand of our services, we are we are looking for a wind technical principal to join our renewable energy team in Bangkok, Thailand. Other Mott MacDonald office locations in East Asia can be considered.
- The technical principal will be an engineer or other technically educated professional, experienced in wind energy technologies and markets, with the knowledge and expertise to oversee and direct the delivery of technical advisory services for wind projects, with excellent quality, on time and on budget.
- Mott MacDonald's wind energy portfolio is extensive with a strong order book for independent engineer (IE) and owner’s engineer (OE) assignments regionally in East Asia and globally. By joining our team, you will contribute to some of the largest, most challenging and innovative projects worldwide. You will be working with a strong renewable energy team and other discipline professionals delivering prestigious projects for a wide variety of stakeholders including developers, investors, lenders, original equipment manufacturers, and regulators. The role is varied in its nature and will include working on a range of international onshore and offshore wind and other renewable energy projects providing, among others:

- Technical advisory and due diligence services as independent engineer
- Owner's engineering, construction supervision and design review services
- Concept and FEED design engineering
- Feasibility studies

**As a technical principal you will be responsible for**:

- directing and managing the portfolio and projects
- directing and managing commercial proposals (bids)
- leading, attending, contributing to internal and external meetings and site visits, internationally, as required
- directly interfacing with clients on behalf of Mott MacDonald
- working closely with other Mott MacDonald business teams and units to establish internal ‘delivery’ network
- assisting with the development of staff
- supporting the development of the offshore and onshore renewables OE, IE, and design capabilities
- raising the profile of projects internally and externally
- establishing a coherent service package linked to existing clients and markets
- ensuring business management systems (BMS) compliance

**Experience**:

- 10+ years of renewable energy sector experience, with a focus on wind
- Experience in consultancy is desirable
- Experience working in the East Asia region is desirable
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Project management expertise across a wide range of disciplines with strong track record of ensuring program performance and customer satisfaction
- Proven experience of business development and stakeholder management

- Strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risk.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to work with and motivate staff in a global setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to others at all levels.
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in English, both verbally & written, and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers, including clients
- Able to collate, analyse and act upon complex and diverse information from a variety of sources and give advice for senior management level decision making
