Job Description

To continue with advancing our pipeline of new services we are now seeking to recruit RPG developers to strengthen our small iSeries team. We are looking for experienced developers with a minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in the development of financial solutions using ILE RPG and RPG SQL.

The iSeries software team develops new services and features and provides third level software support for the analysis of production incidents and software corrections that may arise. In addition to RPG noted above, SYNON is also used for DB definition and screen-based solutions.

Role Responsibilities- To design, develop and maintain software that is built on the IBMi platform using RPG and SQL languages and procedures.- This will include assessing business requirements and translating into effective designs.- Producing high quality, standard-compliant code.- Collaborating with other developers to ensure that changes are coordinated and knowledge is shared to permit more effective platform support.- Complying with the use of development standards using for example JIRA for the change management process together with release management procedures.- The effective management of deadlines through collaboration with technical and business teams.- Timely escalation to management of platform events that need further focus or resolution.

Requirements for the role- A genuine passion for technology and problem-solving.- Good communication skills and the ability to deliver in accordance with deadlines.- Experience in the use of the Synon code generator tool and Java would be desirable but not essential.
