**This position is a short, fixed term contract**23 June 2025 to 22 August 2025**. The work is to deliver short courses to overseas primary and secondary overseas students in our Siam Square Teaching Centre. Applicants must be available to work Monday - Fridays mornings and afternoons for the full duration of the short contract. For more information contact the recruitment team.**

**Role Purpose**
- To promote and ensure deliver quality teaching and effective learning of EnglishTo support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission

**Accountabilities**
- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning styles.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout the course, while actively promote learner autonomy and progress.
- Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team.
- Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards.
- Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain the British Council’s position at the forefront of best ELT practice.
- Support local marketing and promotional strategy, and assist the Teaching Centre team in delivering excellent customer service.
- Contribute to the development of lasting, mutually beneficial relationships by enhancing students’ understanding of contemporary Britain.
- Ensure safeguarding and other guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy for the following areas:

- Safeguarding
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Anti-bribery
- Health and safety
- Information managementBrand

**Qualifications**
**Essentials**
- Recognised Certificate in EFL i.e. CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL (or equivalent)University Degree or equivalent

**Desirables**
- A DELTA, DipTESOL, or other TEFL Q qualification
- Relevant Master’s Degree, or PGCE.
- Young learner ELT qualification (e.g. CELTYL, TYLEC)
- Very Young Learner ELT qualification (e.g. NILE Teaching English is Pre-Primary Education)SEN qualification

**Work Experience**
**Essentials**
- Note a minimum of 1200+ hours experience should have been gained from teaching two or more of the following age groups:

- Young learners aged 4 to 7
- Young learners aged 8 to 12
- Young learners aged 13 to 17Adults aged 17 +

**Desirables**
- Working in a mainstream school in Thailand, teaching centre in Thailand, or similar context
- Working with large monolingual groupsWorking with SEN learners

**Language Requirement**

High proficiency in English i.e. full mastery of English across all 4 skills equivalent to user (CEFR C2) IELTS Band 8/9 in each of 4 sections of the academic module.

- Domestic/International Travel: The post may require the employee to travel to places of business outside of teaching centres and partner schools in Bangkok. The British Council will provide support in these instances.
- Weekend Working: The post requires working on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am.
- Termly Commitment: The post requires hourly paid instructors to commit to delivering a full semester.Working Hours: For staff based at partner schools or universities, working hours will tend to follow institutional timetables (with classes in Thailand usually being scheduled between 7:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday), but there may also be a requirement to carry out after-school work, for example when supporting or delivering an extracurricular offer, Working hours in teaching centres range between 8:00am-9:45pm, seven days a week.
