- As the lead Country Accountant, this role will be responsible for the overall finance operation for our Thailand office and managing 2 direct reports.

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management and development consultancy. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Country Accountant to join our Finance team in Bangkok, Thailand.
This role would suit a finance professional (ISCA, ACCA), up to 5 years post-qualification experience, with the aptitude and ambition to develop as a finance business partner. You will bring a dynamic and engaging style that will be vital, assisting you to get involved in key decision-making that impacts the organisation.
In this role, you will:

- Work with Country (Thailand) and Sector management teams to provide a wider understanding of business performance, enabling more informed decision-making.
- Responsible for the overall finance operations and manage 2 direct reports.
- Assist in preparation and review of proposals, including assessment of financial aspects of contracts to facilitate invoicing and payments.
- Attend monthly project control meetings for major and risky projects.
- Manage country working capital, ensuring prompt invoicing and collections.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, leading onto evaluation of Business Plans
- Produce statutory accounts, tax and other returns; co-ordinating statutory and internal audits.
- Work with Group/Regional Finance, Treasury, Tax, and Shared Service teams to enhance delivery to project teams.
- About You:

- Purpose-driven with a strategic mindset keen to assist on the development and implementation of longer-term financial plans and strategies.
- Strong knowledge on local Thai statutory accounting practices.
- The ability to engage in a collaborative, open and constructive manner with good relationship management, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Customer driven, collaborative and hands-on approach who can identify pragmatic business focussed solutions to problems, see the bigger picture and think through the wider implications of actions.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to listen, understand & advise (in Thai and English).
- Positive, enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach to work.
