**About the Team**:
The Southeast Asia (SEA) Public Policy & Government Affairs team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the SEA Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to develop and advocate for solutions for pressing high technology issues and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and build relationships with state policymakers and political figures in Thailand and neighbouring countries: Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as legal, communications, and the policy team on public policy matters to help guide the development of products, services, and policies as well as integration of key public policy projects.
- Proactively identify and address emerging and significant policy issues, as well as regulatory developments in the region, that could present risks with implications for the company and its products.
- Represent TikTok at high tech industry gatherings, trade associations and coalition meetings.
- Maintain and develop a strong network of third-party public interest groups, industry associations and academics engaged in technology policy issues.
- Advocate, internally and externally, policy positions that benefit and protect the TikTok user community
- Identify, monitor, and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company
- Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings
- Execute strategies for engaging with policymakers around issues important to TikTok and our community of creators
- Conduct research and report on domestic and international policy issues that have relevance to the company.

**Qualifications**:

- JD or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years dedicated professional experience of Public Policy or Government in Thailand and neighbouring countries: Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar
- Deep understanding of the key public policy issues that impact internet policy experience
- Outstanding judgment, persuasive and advocacy skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment.
- Outstanding writing skills and distilling complex policy issues into simple explanations and compelling messages
- Strong network of experts, academics and NGOs, able to help direct TikTok regarding new trends and research with political campaign/ advocacy experience
- Deep experience working across multiple functions, influencing, and collaborating with others to successfully implement programs and initiatives; history of successful cross-functional team and leadership collaboration.
- Strong research and analysis abilities: the individual will need to take complex situations and effectively communicate their implications for the company, as well as defend priorities for the public policy function.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills: the individual will need to work with other departments including, but not limited to policy/legal/communications staff to assess needs, alignment and path for collaboration.
- Discipline, strong sense of responsibility and self-drive.
