**Job Summary**:
The Elementary Teacher Assistant is an important component of the school’s educational programme. As such, he or she is expected to be a supportive member of staff and to be willing to accept responsibilities for a variety of tasks. The items listed below are intended to indicate the general parameters of duties; however it is expected that as other needs arise the Elementary Teacher Assistant will act upon them.

**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities for the Elementary Teacher Assistant**:

- Works from 7.30 am until 4.00 pm Monday through Friday
- Carries out tasks as directed by ELT and the PA to Elementary Principal
- Organizes and locates teaching materials and resources as required
- Undertakes and clerical tasks to assist in the preparation and organization of materials
- Carries out duties assigned during recess and lunch breaks
- Participates in field trips as needed
- Supports in the Elementary Office during school vacations under the supervision of the PA to Elementary Principal on behalf of the ELT.

**Duties for an Elementary Teacher Assistant who is covering an Academic Assistant**:

- Works from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and then continues doing Teacher Assistant duties to 4:00 PM.
- Undertakes the duties normally assigned to an Academic Assistant where appropriate.
- Can be asked to assist students individually and in groups.
- Helps students during transitions.
- Cover for absent Academic Assistants as required.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Be familiar with NIST child safeguarding policy
- Be aware of abuse risks to children
- Abide by the Code of Conduct
- Be vigilant
- Prevent abuse/protect children
- Report concerns (mandatory duty)
- Challenge poor practice/promote good practice

**Knowledge Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in any related field
- Other Qualifications & Skill Requirements/คุณสมบัติอื่นฯและทักษะที่จำเป็น
- Excellent command of English in reading, writing and speaking
- Teaching Experience will be an advantage
- Able to work as a member of the team
- Competent in computer operations
- Positive demeanor and collaborative nature
