We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Carpenter / Joiner Foreman for Timber Construction. This role involves building and subsequently training Burmese staff in the construction of modern timber villas. The end goal is to create repeatable work processes and move from building 1 villa at a time towards pre-fabricating and assembling multiple villas simultaneously. The position is based on the tropical island of Koh Phangan, Thailand.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage, lead and oversee the building of modern timber villas from start to finish with a small and tight-knit team of Burmese workers
- Train Burmese staff in timber construction methods.
- Use strong communication skills to coordinate with various teams and stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous improvements of the building process

**Requirements**:

- Professional experience as a carpenter or joiner and general construction
- Professional experience managing projects and driving productivity
- Ability to manage and lead teams of Burmese laborers
- Fluency in English; Thai or Burmese language skills are a plus.
- Open to both Thai nationals and foreigners (work permit will be provided).

**Core Required Qualities**:

- A sense of accountability, a strong work ethic, and a deep passion for sustainable construction.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a startup environment characterized by busy days and flat hierarchies.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position is local, based in Koh Phangan, Thailand.
- Salary range between 60,000 THB and 150,000 THB, depending on experience and output.
- Private health insurance included.
