Overview:
The Japanese Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant operations to ensure a superior dining experience for customers while maintaining high standards of service, quality, and safety. This role requires a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine, culture, and hospitality standards, combined with strong leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
**Operational Management**:

- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain inventory and manage supplies, ensuring the availability of essential items without overstocking.
- Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation to ensure quality standards.
- **Staff Management**:

- Recruit, hire, train, and manage restaurant staff, including chefs, kitchen staff, and servers.
- Develop work schedules to ensure the restaurant operates efficiently during all shifts.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
- Resolve employee conflicts and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- **Customer Service**:

- Ensure exceptional customer service by training staff on Japanese hospitality standards.
- Address customer complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain a visible presence in the dining area to greet customers and oversee service.
- **Financial Management**:

- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability, implementing cost-control measures as necessary.
- Manage pricing and menu planning in collaboration with the head chef.
- **Marketing and Promotion**:

- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Organize special promotions, events, and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain an active presence on social media and manage the restaurant’s online reputation.
- **Cultural Authenticity**:

- Ensure that the restaurant’s ambiance, decor, and service reflect authentic Japanese culture.

Qualifications:
**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a restaurant manager, preferably in a Japanese or Asian cuisine establishment.
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine, culture, and dining etiquette.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and MS Office.
- Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Passion for Japanese cuisine and culture.

Working Conditions:
