Overview:
**_ What You’ll Be Doing _**

Cadmus is seeking a qualified Gender, Equality, and Social Inclusion (GESI) Lead for a USAID-funded role in South-East Asia. The purpose of the activity is to support democracy movement leaders in mutually affirming relationships. Efforts to support women engaged in the intertwined democratic movement are central and critical to the activity. The activity supports women’s participation, representation, and contribution to peace, security, and a future democracy. The activity uses the 2023 USAID Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy, the Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017 and the U.S. Strategy and National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security as its framework.

The GESI Lead is a cross-cutting role, ensuring that teams across the entire activity develop and implement interventions that directly support Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion (GYSI), Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and diversity, while ensuring that interventions that do not directly support these goals nonetheless mainstream gender principles and objectives. The GESI lead is also responsible for management of documents such as strategies, plans and impact assessments related to GYSI, WPS and other relevant frameworks. The GESI lead reports directly to the Chief of Party. The position is full-time, for an initial period of three years with the possibility of extension for two additional, options years.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Chief of Party in management of the design and implementation of all aspects of the activity as they relate to WPS, GYSI and diversity.
- Provide leadership and technical direction for production and implementation of a Gender and Inclusive Development (GID) Plan.
- Manage and direct stakeholder outreach, engagement, and information collection necessary for production of the GID Plan.
- In coordination with objective leads, program officers, the research team and MEL/CLA team members, provide substantive contributions to the design of project intervention, performance management, and indicator tracking related to WPS, GYSI, and diversity outcomes.
- Support the design and implementation of grant activities and other activities targeted at WPS and GID/GYSI strategy execution, with special emphasis on
- Ensuring development of interventions under all three objectives that specifically support women’s empowerment, women’s inclusion in peace and security and other objectives related to WPS and GYDI.
- Ensuring that all interventions not specifically supporting women’s empowerment, women’s inclusion in peace and security or other objectives related to WPS and GYDI nonetheless mainstream gender equality and women’s empowerment.
- Supporting or leading the design and implementation of other interventions that support women’s empowerment, women’s inclusion in peace and security and other objectives related to WPS and GYDI that do not directly fall under one of the three objective areas.
- Lead the production of WPS, GYSI and Diversity analyses, impact assessments, and other learning studies that inform objective area interventions.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and skills building for WPS, GYSI team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Professional Experience
- 10 years of overall professional experience in civil society programming, GYSI issues and humanitarian programming, experience working on issues related to Women, Peace and Security a strong plus, with 8 years of experience in donor programming.
- Demonstrated capacity for conducting effective stakeholder outreach and engagement
- Knowledge of “do no harm,” women’s empowerment, WPS, youth development frameworks and approaches.

Education
- Bachelor's in relevant field or 5 additional years of experience in GYSI and programming.
