**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement credit control policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure effective management of credit risk and timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Oversee the credit control team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and achievement of team goals.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, working proactively to address payment issues, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment plans.
- Review and analyze aged receivables reports, identifying delinquent accounts and taking appropriate actions to initiate collections and recovery efforts.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate records of outstanding debts.
- Monitor and evaluate credit control processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular credit reviews and risk assessments of existing and potential customers, providing recommendations for credit limit adjustments and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the credit control function, tracking and reporting on credit metrics, collection targets, and aging trends.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, legal requirements, and best practices related to credit management, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary changes to processes and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications in credit management are preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in credit control, accounts receivable management, or a related role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of credit management principles, credit risk assessment methodologies, and collections strategies.
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools used in credit control and collections.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, assess creditworthiness, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and external parties.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using financial software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and compliance requirements related to credit management, collections, and debt recovery.
