Job Description:
**Position**: Structural Checker
**Company**: Construction company, offshore oil and gas.
**Type of Hiring**: Contract 1 year
**Working hours**: Mon Fri 7.30 - 17.00 and Sat 7.30 - 12.00
**Location**: Chonburi, Thailand
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide technical support to the Fabrication/Production team on structural engineering aspects.
- Prepare clear and concise redline markups on shop drawings, weld maps, weld history sheets, cutting plans/lists, and as-fabricated drawings for efficient fabrication and production of structural components.
- Conduct thorough engineering content checks on structural shop drawings prepared by drafters, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other disciplines (Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation) during the shop drawing preparation process to identify and address potential conflicts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shop drawing cross-reference reports, including drawing registers and shop marking references.
**Detailed Engineering**:
- Review and understand Approved for Construction (AFC) documents.
- Allocate shop drawings to drafters based on workload and expertise.
- Verify shop drawings for conformance with AFC specifications, including material grade, size, dimensions, and fabrication requirements.
- Generate cutting plans and cutting lists based on approved shop drawings.
- Develop joint weld maps and welding history sheets for seamless tracking of weld procedures and records.
- Monitor project control schedules to ensure timely completion of shop drawing tasks.
**Construction Engineering**:
- Revise shop drawings as per Site Instructions (SI) to reflect any on-site modifications, including updates to cutting plans, cutting lists, weld maps, and welding history sheets.
- Review and approve as-built fabrication documentation for accuracy and compliance with design intent.****
**Qualifications**
- Higher Vocational Certificate (Mechanical, Civil and Structural and Piping and Industrial Engineer)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication drawing preparation /checking, preferable in Oil and Gas Industry
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, X-steel, AutoPlant, Welding Procedure Specification (WPS's)
