**The Role**

The Capacity Teacher has responsibility for delivering the curriculum to an assigned class of children in the absence of a Class Teacher. In addition, the Capacity Teacher will support student learning by teaching small intervention groups of children. In class, the Capacity Teacher will be supported by the class Learning Assistants.

The Capacity Teacher will contribute to curriculum planning, assessments and pastoral care of the children as directed by the Pre-Prep and Prep Leadership Teams. This will include consulting with parents and running activity clubs during lunch time or after school.

The Capacity Teacher will work with a range of different age groups throughout the Pre-Prep and Prep Department up to Year 5. Some of their specific duties and responsibilities include:
Collaborating with Teachers, Learning Assistants and the Senior Leadership Team to make sure students are receiving the very best possible education and that they are safe and happy.

Following lesson plans from the permanent Class Teacher or Head of Section.

Playground and lunchtime duties.

The Capacity Teacher must subscribe fully to the core values of DBS, and understand how important it is to provide the best possible all-round education and pastoral care for every child. The Capacity Teacher will be responsible to the Head of Pre-Prep and the Head of Prep.
