Mine Geologist

LALCO Group is looking for a mining geologist specializes in the geological aspects of mining operations. The geologist will play a critical role in identifying and evaluating mineral deposits, ensuring efficient and safe extraction, and managing geological data. We expect the mine geologist to work closely with our mining engineers, surveyors, and environmental scientists to optimize mining processes and minimize environmental impact.
**Duties**:
- Conduct geological surveys and sampling to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits
- Analyze geological data from core samples, drill logs, and other sources to determine the composition, structure, and quality of mineral resources
- Create detailed geological maps and cross-sections of mining areas to guide extraction processes
- Estimate the quantity and quality of mineral resources, providing critical information for mine planning and development
- Assess the stability of mine structures and slopes, providing recommendations to ensure safety and prevent collapses
- Collaborate with mining engineers to develop and optimize mine plans, ensuring efficient and sustainable resource extraction
- Monitor and manage the environmental impact of mining activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice
- Prepare detailed reports on geological findings, resource estimates, and mining progress for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Use advanced geological software and technologies, such as GIS and 3D modeling, to enhance data analysis and visualization
- Train and supervise junior geologists and technicians, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety protocols.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field
- Extensive experience with geological modeling software
- Strong background in structural geology
- Experience in open-pit and underground mining environments
- Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing technologies
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities
- Fluency in multiple languages relevant to mining regions
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Proficiency in geological mapping and sampling techniques
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Physical fitness to work in challenging field conditions
- Knowledge of mining operations and industry standards
- Experience with geological software and data analysis tools
- Willingness to travel and work in remote locations
- Understanding of environmental and safety protocols in mining
