Position Overview

Responsible Maintains wooden equipment, furniture and related fittings throughout the hotel. Maintains and repairs all granite, marble, grouting, tiles, cement, concrete walls, floor and ceilings. Undertakes all painting and varnishing work throughout the hotel, including sign painting, spray painting, varnishing and polishing.

The Role

Repairs all wooden equipment, furniture and related fitting throughout all function rooms, banquet stores and banquet office, guest-rooms, public areas within the hotel.
Repairs and makes good tables, chairs, sofas, stools, trolleys, mirrors, round or long banquet tables, etc.
Repairs or renews rails, pellets, racks, cupboards, closet, etc.
Makes or repairs partitions, doors, windows, sign boards, bulletin boards, boxes, tables, chairs, etc.
Constructs cupboards, shelves and other furniture together with fittings as required by the hotel.
Repairs or changes door stoppers, door closers, hooks, hinges, locks, rubber linings, curtain rails, etc.
Services, repairs and adjusts soundproof partitions, air walls, glass sliding doors and fittings and all mechanical and metal fittings.
Repairs or renews ceiling throughout the hotel and shops.
Repairs or renews wallpaper for the entire hotel and shops.
Fixes hooks, locks, brackets, clothes lines, towel racks, TV, stands, and doors.
Responsible for order and cleanliness of carpentry and painting workshop.
Repairs all stone, marble, granite, tiles, cement and concrete surfaces throughout the hotel.
Assists in repairing and making good items which may be affixed such as brackets, doorways and other structures.
Carries out re-grouting program within the hotel, including the absolute necessity to ensure all guest-rooms, bathrooms and public area toilets are properly grouted according to schedule. Ensures all tiling and plaster work is in good repair.
Carries out any job assignments as when directed by the Management
Carries out shift duties, split shift or when called upon to perform odd duties whenever a person of the same category trade falls sick, is on vacation, is absent from duty or as called upon to do so from time to time as directed by superiors or due to availability of the work area.
