Handle Cash Transactions:
Manage all cash transactions, including guest payments, staff expenses, and other financial transactions.
Ensure accurate and secure handling of cash at all times.
Balance Cash Drawers:
Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
Ensure all cash discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
Prepare Cash Deposits:
Prepare and record daily cash deposits for the hotel's bank account.
Ensure deposits are made in a timely manner and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
Guest Service:
Provide excellent customer service to hotel guests during payment transactions.
Address any guest inquiries or concerns related to billing and payments.
Cost Control Duties:
Monitor Expenses:
Track and monitor all hotel expenses, ensuring they are within budgetary constraints.
Identify areas where costs can be reduced without compromising service quality.
Inventory Management:
Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely ordering of supplies.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial reports related to cost control, including daily revenue reports, cost of goods sold (COGS), and variance reports.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and hotel policies related to cash handling and cost control.
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Proven experience as a cashier, cost controller, or in a similar financial role within the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of financial principles and cost control practices.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
This position requires standing for long periods, handling cash, and working in a fast-paced environment.
The role may involve working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on hotel operations.
