Education in paradise We aim to deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning to an international community emphasizing wellbeing and passion on a green, well equipped campus.

The staff turnover each year is low (typically around 10%) and the average length of stay exceeds seven years. This is not because of the beaches and sunshine, although, to be perfectly honest, this does no harm to our recruitment. Many teachers have children at the school. The balance of male to female teachers is almost exactly even throughout the school, including Early Years, and although there is a very healthy age spread from the aged to those who are in their first few years of teaching, it is an exceptionally experienced staff overall. The school has outstanding facilities, and places a great emphasis upon a healthy lifestyle and caring for others. It is a unique place on a tropical island, and we are looking for teachers who will contribute positively, and enhance our culture. Overall we emphasize an education based on learning, wellbeing and passion.

Inspire learning; nurture wellbeing; ignite passion.

Simon Meredith - Headmaster

**MISSION**

Inspire learning; nurture wellbeing; ignite passion

**VISION**

Maximise student potential by delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning to an international community emphasising wellbeing and passion, on a green, well equipped campus

**PHILOSOPHY**

The educational philosophy of the British International School, Phuket is uniquely founded upon the model of a Triple Helix, where each of the three strands (Learning, Wellbeing and Passion) are identified as being interdependent and essential components of a balanced and productive life.

**Learning **at BISP is ‘holistic’, in that it cultivates the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive dimensions of the developing child.

Holistic education at BISP places ‘**wellbeing**’ at the heart of our learning community. Our students find identity, meaning and purpose, that lead to personal growth and fulfilment.

‘**Passion**’ is defined in terms of an individual’s capacity to embrace life itself, even though this might manifest itself in a singular pursuit. It is what drives people; motivates; and gives purpose. At BISP we encourage students to follow their passions with energy and enthusiasm, and to value the process of their experience as much as the outcome of their effort and achievement.

**VALUES**

**Respect**
- Be mindful, considerate and inclusive_

**Compassion**
- Be caring, empathetic and reflective_

**Integrity**
- Be honest, principled and accountable_
- At BISP, we offer a curriculum of opportunity where examination success is a consequence of a good education, not its purpose; this is achieved by inspiring students through authentic learning experiences that takes them ‘beyond examinations’._
