Job description

**Responsibilities**:
Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases.
Designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management.
Install database management systems (DBMS)
Provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.
Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans.
Daily database monitoring, tuning and reviews
Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
Ticket handling includes incidents, service requests and problem management.

**Technical Competencies**:
Knowledge of database migration methodologies.
Experienced in database upgrades and migration activities.
Familiarity with the main data manipulation languages and the principles of database design
Unix Shell Scripting.
Document supported database environment.
Able to refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
