**EYFS Teacher & Coordinator**:
RBIS International School is a small developing international school offering the English National Curriculum for students from age 3-18 years.

Our Early Years programme is a vibrant stimulating programme based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and is located in a purpose built facility providing various learning environments including outdoor learning.

We require a qualified and experienced educator to join our school and lead the Early Years team consisting of four teachers, 3 Teaching Assistants and support staff. RBIS requires a visionary leader who can provide support and guidance as we further develop our programme for these young students.

**Early Years Teacher & Coordinator**:
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Teaching**
- Teach an inspiring and appropriate Early Years Curriculum following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance
- Ensure children are settled in well to their first year of schooling
- Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcome of pupils you teach and monitor every child’s progress against the Early Learning goals, whilst following the EYFS curriculum
- Set clear and challenging EYFS targets that build on prior attainment for each pupil; use an appropriate range of observation, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for pupils of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions, monitoring learners’ progress and levels of attainment
- Liaise effectively with parents and offer opportunities for them to engage in their child’s learning at home
- Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn
- Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs; gifted and talented; EAL; and/or disabilities; and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support them all
- Demonstrate an understanding of, and take responsibility for, promoting high standards of literacy including the use of standard spoken English and the teaching of early reading and phonics
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment to secure pupils’ progress and ensure every child makes good progress from their Reception baseline

**Behaviour and Safety to**:

- Establish a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect, and to establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly
- Manage the class effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge
- Maintain a good relationship with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive behaviour, attitude and values which are expected of pupils
- Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners
- Carry out playground and other duties as directed by Senior Management

**Essential Criteria**:

- A formal university qualification in Early Years Education
- A minimum of 2 years experience
- Experience in an international school setting

5 years teaching experience.

B. Ed, PGCE or PGDE, UK Qualified Teacher Status, UK Early Years Teacher Status or similar teaching qualification.

Proficient in English.

Should hold a valid passport from either Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States.

References, Medical check, Criminal background check

Essential Criteria:

- A formal university qualification in Early Years Education
- A minimum of 5 years experience

Preferable Criteria:

- Experience in a leadership position within Early Years
- Experience in an international school setting

**Early Years Coordinator: Key Responsibilities**:

- To motivate, inspire, challenge and support pupils and staff in the Early Years team.
- To have an excellent knowledge of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum.
- To ensure statutory duties and school procedures and policies are met in the Early Years.
- To contribute to school policies and procedures - with a specific focus for Early Years.
